Summer 2020 - New Beginnings
So this year has certainly been one with a difference hasn't it?
After nearly two decades of working in the health and social care sector, last year was a real year of change for me. Early in 2019, as well working full time in my old role, I also became a wedding registrar for the local authority and enjoyed it so much I knew that the course of my life would change, becoming a wedding celebrant was a natural progression from there and after spending a lot of time with my lovely father in law as he was dying, I realised I wanted to train to deliver end of life ceremonies and help people celebrate the lives of their loved ones in whatever unique and personal way they chose.
Drawing on my experience of wedding ceremonies and of running several local community and spiritual groups I felt that I could draw on a deep well of experience, diversity, understanding and gently but firmly hold a safe, sacred space to enable me to deliver a ceremony either traditional or more bespoke and unique to celebrate the lives of loved ones at a very difficult time.
After looking at the options, I felt that the course run by River Jones on behalf of OBOD - the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids was the one that suited me best and would enable me deliver funerals that I felt would be individual and reflect the life I was helping to celebrate. After several months of studying and training, I was delighted to finally finish my course and be awarded my certificate!
I'm currently in the process of arranging some shadowing to polish up my new skills and hope to soon be helping people to celebrate their loved ones lives in a personal and fitting way.
So, my new journey begins and I look forward to sharing it with you....

Well Done lovely. Perfect role for you xx
